Professor Carlos Gaviria Mendoza, associated to the Civil Engineering Program of the Engineering Faculty of our institution, was invited to hold a technical speech about structural health supervision at the hall of Mayagüez, of Universidad de Puerto Rico.
Within the frame of this activity, Engineer Gaviria received the Abertis international award of research about transportation infrastructure management; this award is an annually given by the Abertis Professorship, and honors the best selected works among the local editions finalists of the award in Puerto Rico, in the PhD Thesis category.
The prime commitment of the Abertis Professorship is to contribute to the research on the repercussion of great Works on the territory, improving in this manner the quality of life of its inhabitants and bolstering the academic world.
