With the purpose of strengthening the entrepreneurial culture in the Universidad de la Costa alumni, providing them with entrepreneurial techniques and tools aimed to boosting the development of projects and administration of business ventures ideas, the Outreach Activities Department and their Alumni and creation of Companies Units carried out the conference of Entrepreneurship and Business Models, named: "Light Entrepreneurial Methodologies: Six master keys of highly effective entrepreneurs".
The conference was directed by the Engineer Karen Peña Segura, expert in company management and ITC consultant, and more than 80 alumni from the various academic programs attended.
Within the approached subjects, there was a training for participants with advanced communication resources to strengthen their leadership, increase their personal productivity and provide them with tools to establish an assertive communication, which adds value to their personal, family and professional actions.
Also, some of the emerging entrepreneurship technologies were explained, with the purpose of strengthening the entrepreneurial work when addressing and developing an idea, until it becomes a sustainable business; the following methodologies were generally described: Customer development of Steve Blank, Business Model Canvas of Alexander Osterwalder, The Lean Startup Method of Eric Ries and its implications in the new world of emerging companies or well-known Startups, and the renowned Lean Canvas Method, developed by Ash Maurya, which also arises as a tool for startups to design their business models.
Finally, participants were motivated to become part of the new projects coming from the Graduates Unit and Creation of Companies Unit affiliated to the Outreach Activities Department, in regard to alumni entrepreneurship and training, using specific training spaces directed to widening the company ecosystem of Universidad de la Costa CUC, at regional as well as national levels.
